The CHW Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity for CHWs working in NH to “earn while they learn”. CHW Apprentices must be employed by a sponsoring organization.
The Program is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration with additional support from a partnership with ApprenticeshipNH.
AHEC staff can assist employers in registering with the Department of Labor as a CHW Apprenticeship Site. Participants can be new CHWs or can be people who previously took the Core Competency Training and want to extend their learning with additional courses.
Contact Carli Hughes at [email protected] if you are interested in registering as a DOL Apprenticeship Site to host a CHW Apprentice.
Interested in learning more about the apprenticeship? See the recording of the information session below! (Recording from meeting held 3/21/24)
CHW Advance! is a HRSA funded program to enhance the CHW workforce. The CHW Apprenticeship provides the opportunity for increased training and on the job experience for new and existing CHWs in NH. Employers can get additional support for CHWs and can promote retention through Apprenticeship.
