The Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center (SNHAHEC) focuses on workforce development for current and future health professionals. 

Our mission is to develop, promote, and coordinate community and academic multi-disciplinary partnerships for health professions education.  We focus on under-served communities and provide education for students, practicing health professionals, and members of southern New Hampshire communities.  Our service area is primarily Cheshire, Sullivan, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Strafford, and Rockingham counties, and we also partner to undertake statewide activities.

Better Choices, Better Health

Better Choices, Better Health is a six-week community based training program for people diagnosed with chronic diseases, including asthma, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. Trained layleaders facilitate the 2-1/2 hour meetings, which cover topics like communication skills, managing medications, nutrition, and disease-related problem solving. Interpretation Training

Southern  NH AHEC offers Interpretation Training Programs in the following areas:

These training programs prepare bilingual individuals for careers in interpreting in professional settings. Classes are held several times per year in Southern New Hampshire, and can be found on the interpretation page.

One of the goals of the Southern NH AHEC is to promote health careers to students, with an emphasis on minority and disadvantaged populations. The Southern NH AHEC offers:
