Better Choices, Better Health
Better Choices, Better Health is a six-week community based training program for people diagnosed with chronic diseases, including asthma, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. Trained layleaders facilitate the 2-1/2 hour meetings, which cover topics like communication skills, managing medications, nutrition, and disease-related problem solving. Interpretation Training
Southern NH AHEC offers Interpretation Training Programs in the following areas:
- Legal
- Health Care Community (Medical)
These training programs prepare bilingual individuals for careers in interpreting in professional settings. Classes are held several times per year in Southern New Hampshire, and can be found on the interpretation page.
Health Careers
One of the goals of the Southern NH AHEC is to promote health careers to students, with an emphasis on minority and disadvantaged populations. The Southern NH AHEC offers:
