Preceptor Development Program The One-Minute Preceptor
The One-Minute Preceptor is a nationally known technique to organize your teaching encounters.  This module will instruct you on this valuable set of tested teaching techniques.  Initially introduced as the "Five-Step 'Microskills' Model of Clinical Teaching" (Neher, Gordon, Meyer, & Stevens, 1992), the One Minute Preceptor strategy has been taught and tested across the nation (Irby 1997a, 1997b; STFM, 1993) and has been welcomed by busy preceptors.  The dissemination of this technique has been allowed and encouraged, and we are pleased to be able to present it to you as part of our Preceptor Development Program. To obtain continuing education credit for the 1 Minute Preceptor, you must print out the post-test and program evaluation at the end of the module, complete both forms and send them to: Malone Steele Southern NH AHEC 128 State Route 27 Raymond, NH 03077 A $5.00 processing fee is required from participants located outside New Hampshire. This continuing education session has been awarded 1 contact hour by the Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the New Hampshire Nurses' Association Commission on Continuing Education, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The AHEC is currently seeking approval for CME for these modules.
