Southern NH Area Health Education Center, the Foundation for Healthy Communities, Southern NH Health Systems and the Endowment for Health are collaborating to present: Cultural Awareness in Healthcare. Anne Fadiman, the author of The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, will talk about the experience of writing the book. She will address the cross-cultural challenges she faced and discuss teh lessons she learned about how American health care providers can provide more sensitive and effective care for patients from other cultures. Participants will also learn about NH's Medical Interpretation Strategic Plan and ongoing efforts to address financing, workforce development and data collection. Cultural Awareness in Healthcare will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2005 from 11:30am - 4:30pm at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua.
