The Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a community-based organization currently serving Sullivan, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Strafford, Cheshire, and Rockingham counties.

Our mission is to develop, promote, and coordinate community and academic multi-disciplinary partnerships for health professions education.  We focus on under-served communities and provide education for students, practicing health professionals, and members of southern New Hampshire communities.

Better Choices, Better Health

Better Choices, Better Health is a six-week community based training program for people diagnosed with chronic diseases, including asthma, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. Trained layleaders facilitate the 2-1/2 hour meetings, which cover topics like communication skills, managing medications, nutrition, and disease-related problem solving. 60-Hour Health Care Community Interpretation Training Program scheduled for Fall 2014! SNHAHEC is offering a 60-hour Health Care Community Interpretation Training Programs and a 70-hour Legal Interpretation classes in fall 2014 and Winter 2015! Interpretation Training

Southern  NH AHEC offers Interpretation Training Programs in the following areas:

These training programs prepare bilingual individuals for careers in interpreting in professional settings. Classes are held several times per year in Southern New Hampshire, and can be found on the interpretation page.
